About Me
I have always been part of a creative family, but my love for art truly began when I was a teenager studying art in school. After my children were born, I was drawn back to art and into the Museum, studying the masters as a Docent at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
In 2003 I started creating and selling custom jewelry to weddings parties, friends and family and also began studying pastel and oil painting under Artist Anne Chaddock. A few years later I joined For Art’s Sake Gallery and Studios as Studio/Gallery Manager and 5 years later purchased the business from Anne. I owned the gallery for another 7.5 wonderful years. I spent my time at FAS curating exhibits and judging shows around the Richmond area, managing our studio instructors and frame shop. I currently spend my time painting with my companion, Cooper my Golden Retriever and teaching fine art classes out of my home studio. I hang my work as a member of the Virginia Plein Air Painters and James River Art League where I am currently Gallery Co-chair. My students and I show our works at Crossroads Art Center in Richmond, Va. I also volunteer my time on the board of Art for the Journey, a non-profit organization that teaches art therapy to veterans with PTSD, incarcerated women in the Goochland woman's prison, Elderly people with Alzheimers and Intercity school children. I gather inspiration for my paintings from trips I have taken to Europe, Mexico, Canada, and throughout the U.S. I love the process of creating my art, always learning with every stroke of a paint brush. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I loved creating it. EDUCATION
